Food, Inc.

I recently saw Food, Inc., a documentary about our food system. I was watching it from an argumentative perspective because most documentaries make some argument. Food, Inc. makes some good arguments, though they are slightly scattered. Outside of the argumentative perspective, Food, Inc. is a good documentary, one that everybody should watch, though it is a bit gruesome at some points.

The main premise in the documentary is: Why is a hamburger at McDonald’s cheaper than fruit and veggies?

The movie shows how our food system has been overrun by corporate interests, how the animals we eat are tortured and how this affects our health.

I highly recommend this movie, though you do see scenes form slaughterhouses, so you might have to turn away if you’re queasy.
