Going off the deep end

After Isn’treal Israel attacks a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, Pres. Barack Obama orders that we send aid to Gaza. Speaking of the Isn’treal-Gaza situation, Helen Thomas, the best and last remaining journalist, asked the tough questions about the situation, and got hammered for it. She has since resigned (although there was no reason to), but here’s a story about the Helen Thomas situation and double standards (hint: if you work for Fixed Noise and say that, you’re a pundit; if you work for any other “liberal” media outlet, you’re anti-semitic). Here’s a great list of the top 10 Helen Thomas quotes.

I’m extremely disappointed that she resigned. She was a great voice and an even better journalist. She served in the White House Presscorps since 1960 under 10 administrations, and she asked the toughest questions every day. She, along with Woodward and Bernstein, was the reason why I got into journalism.

Glenn Beck has called pretty much everyone in the Obama administration as “Nazi,” but here’s proof that Glenn is one himself.  Glenn has also gone off the deep end regarding his lower ratings.

Yesterday, Tuesday, June 8, California and 11 other states held primaries. Carly Fiorina, the former HP CEO, won the Republican senate primary. During her victory speech, she went off the deep end.

After digging himself in a hole, Rand Paul, also goes off the deep end with special comments about BP.

Here’s an article that’ll scare the shit out of you.

Boiling blood

As we know, BP’s latest attempt to plug the hole, “top kill,” has failed. As a result, they lost 15 percent of their market share. On top of that, they’re now censoring cleanup workers from taking and posting pictures of the harm they’ve done to the environment, although a few can be seen here. (Caution: These pictures are disgusting and disturbing and will make your blood boil).

As we also know, Isn’treal Israel violated international law by raiding and opening fire on a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. One of the murdered peace-keepers was an American, yet America has refused to condemn the vicious and deliberate attack. Look at Israel’s astounding admission, and Helen Thomas is the only journalist to ask the tough question. Here’s the main problem with Israel: It’s becoming it’s own worst enemy; Israel is creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Glenn Beck fails U.S. history and declares that the owner of Fox contributed to 9/11.

George W. Bush admits to being a criminal.

Here’s another admission from another right-wing scumbag that’ll make your blood boil.

Our First Amendment rights are under assault from police.

Do the Hokey Pokey

CNN asks the world’s most pressing question.

Pres. Obama said today would be the day that we withdraw from Iraq, except that we’re still there.

Texas State Board of Education re-writes history.

Rand Paul, the newly elected Republican candidate for Senate in Ky., does the Hokey Pockey and gets all twisted up. First, he goes on Rachel Maddow and gets grilled about his extremely flawed, narrow-minded views. Here’s an interesting piece about the interview, specifically about Rachel’s style of interviewing and how it’s good for the journalism industry. Now, he  says that Pres. Obama is “wrong” to criticize BP for the oil spill.

The terror baggers prove–yet again– that they’re racists.

Tom Corbett, PA’s attorney general and Republican gubernatorial candidate, subpoenas his critics’ Twitter accounts. So much for the First Amendment.

Speaking of the First Amendment, BP is criticizing CBS for doing it’s job and is threatening to remove cameras from the Gulf region.

Here’s another good one for you: our senators don’t know how to use ATMs.

News of the day

Editor’s note: Sorry I’ve been away. Graduating from college, moving and unapacking all your stuff is tiring.

As if we didn’t know this, the “War on Drugs” is failing– and badly.

Comedian Lewis Black has some strong words for Glenn Beck.

After Arizona’s ridiculous racial profiling law, they decided to forbid ethnic studies.

Heaven forbid! There are people different than me and I should learn about them (unless the state says “No.”) I’m still waiting for the terror baggers and the small government crowd to denounce this, but I won’t hold my breath.

Since I haven’t blogged for so long, allow me to add my two cents on the Elena Kagan nomination:

I wanted a more liberal, progressive nominee to counter the uber right-wing activist judges (John Roberts and Sam Alito).  I’ve done some research on Kagen and she doesn’t have the best First Amendment and  the separation of church and state, which are my two biggest gripes with her nomination. I’m also tired of the media asking the same redundant, unnecessary questions such as “Is she a lesbian?”. It’s not relevant.

This post is not titled

In the previous post, I made mention of the Times Square bomber. As previously reported, the Taliban in Pakistan originally took credit for the failed attack. Then, a white man was reported to have been spotted by the SUV. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that those reports are bunk. I’m owning up to my error and admit my mistake.  This is part of the 24-hour media: in major events like this,  poor reporting, the compulsive need to get information out rather than getting correct information out, becomes commonplace.

ThinkProgress backs me up. Media Matters also has an article focusing on the media’s reporting– or lack thereof– regarding this incident.

This incident reinvigorated the politics of terrorism. Of all people, Glenn Beck has some common sense regarding the incident. I feel intellectually dirty for agreeing with Beck for once.

On unrelated notes:

President Obama abandons Net Neutrality.

Another closeted,  anti-gay right-wing Christain nut job comes out of the closet.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs lay the smackdown on a Fox reporter.

Here’s one we should all read.

For all you Star Wars fans:  this picture and caption might make you double-think the saga.

As you all know, an oil rig blew up in the Gulf of Mexico about two weeks ago. I could post myriad links, but I shall keep it simple with this one.  I am anti-offshore drilling and have good reason: incidents like this keep occurring. I believe that we should focus more on solar and wind power. What happens in roughly 20- 30 years when the earth starts to run out of oil? How high will oil prices rise? How much are you willing to pay at the pump? Ready to see the start of World War III as countries fight over the remaining oil?

I shall conclude this post with this. I don’t know whether to laugh because this is so damn ridiculous or  to cry because some people actually believe him.

What year is it?

Virgina’s AG, Ken Cuccinelli, is wasting using taxpayer money for –drumroll, please– a picture of a breast. No, I’m not joking (although I wish I was). So, what year is it, again? 1845? 1950? 2010?

After AZ passed a new racial profiling law, they might want to look at these numbers.

A car bomb forced NYPD to evacuate Times Square. Although, Al-Quaida has claimed responsibilty, a white man was seen near the car. How long before we begin to racial profile white males, given all the furor wingnuts have over attempted terrorism.

The U.S. government subpoenaed a NYT journalist over his new book. Gotta love freedom of speech and of the press.

Here’s some more media-related news: a pro-Wall Street reform protest occurred and the media ignored it;  President Obama blasted the media during a commencement address; Christine Amanpour leaves CNN; a little fact-checking reveals that the recent oil spill is NOT Obama’s Katrina.; Glenn Beck created and ran with a hoax.

Last Thursday (April 29), Bill Maher posted the following message on Twitter:

“Every asshole who ever chanted ‘Drill Baby Drill’ should have to report to the Gulf Coast today for cleanup duty.”

In other news…

Glenn Beck’s show has lost a significant portion of its audience since Jan.

Oh no. It must be a sign of the apocalypse.

Mississippi continues their bigoted, homophobic ways, cutting a lesbian girl from the yearbook.  Speaking of Miss., Constance McMillien will have Westboro Baptist Church (i.e. “God hates fags” cult) protesting her graduation. Maybe Miss. will wake up and smell the roses.

Sen. Carl Levin grills Goldman Sachs, calling what they did/sold “shitty deals.” Keith Olbermann is the only newscaster to not censor the word.

The birthers are back with a new conspiracy theory.  Hawaii, the president’s birthplace, passed a new law ignoring birthers.

The Oklahoma Legislature proves just how misogynistic they are.

Archeologist’s have “found” Noah’s Ark, although science disproves their bullshit.
